The above "tabs" will take you through these discoveries, and can be viewed in an order. Additionally, it is my intention to further expand this website as my professional teaching practice deepens, and as I continue to explore education as an academic discipline. I will aim to accomplish this by posting website links, YouTube videos, and interesting articles or books that inspire my teaching practice. In the future, I also hope to begin a blog to follow my weekly experiences in the classroom as a means of addressing the concepts of 21st century learning, inquiry-based learning, and arts-based learning. I will also be creating professional accounts on many of the most popular social networking sites when and where appropriate as my teaching practice evolves. Collectively It is my hope that in doing the above I will define myself as an educator who truly embodies life-long learning, and who constantly affirms that this profession is one filled with endless opportunities to be creative, innovative, and impactf society in meaningful and tangible way. I invite you to please comment on my website by submitting a comment in the comment box, found on the Contact Information & Resume Request page - located above under the "more..." tab. Featured Artwork...The Canadian 20 Dollar BillAbove is a pencil crayon recreation of the Canadian 20 dollar bill I drew in February of 2010. This piece is being featured as a representation of my desire and ability to include art in my interdisciplanary approach to teaching social studies. In Unit 2 of the grade 10 curriculum, students work to identify ways in which Canadians are responding to the legacies of historical globalization - this includes ways in which Canada's First Nations, Metis, and Inuit are doing so as well. Money is one of many symbolic representations of a nation's cultures and collective identity. I chose to share this work with my students as an introduction to their own inquiry into ways in which these groups were "responding" - although a focus was put on various art forms as responses (sundance, Indian Village, paint, etc.)

Featured YouTube Videos...
| previously featured...I first saw the YouTube video, Do Schools Kill Creativity? in September of 2010 as I was entering the Master of Teaching Program at the University of Calgary. Somewhat dis-heartened from falling short of entrance into the Master of Architecture Program, this video inspired me to approach the discipline of education and the profession of teaching through my creative capacities, personal strengths, and passion for visual arts.
The second video is a visual representation of another one of Sir Ken Robinson's TED Talks, and was first viewed while conducting research for my independant inquiry paper, The Value and Necessity of the Arts in Education: A Conversation for the Benefit of Society. Sir Ken Robinson is an internationally recognized leader in the development of creativity, innovation, human resources, and education.
